A Lower Sunshine Coast 24-Week Skills Link Employment Program~
Intake #5 ~ Projected Program Start Date (TBC) – To be announced
The YAds Program helps young adults facing barriers to employment develop the broad range of skills required to participate successfully in todays’ job market.
The YAds Program:
§ Offers a client-centered approach based on individual needs aimed
at employment-disadvantaged young adults ages 15 – 30 ~
provides Employability and Life Skills Workshops, Volunteer Placements, a Community Service Team Project, and a Work Exposure/Career Plan.
§ Earn While YOU Learn! ~ During this 24 week program participants will receive a stipend (allowance) of up to $240 per week while they are learning and practicing employability and career development skills in a supportive environment.
What qualifies someone for the YAds Program:
1. Be between the ages of 15 and 30
2. Currently not attending school or working full time
3. Not eligible for employment insurance
4. Have little or no work experience and have barriers to finding work
How does someone apply for the YAds Program:
- Meet with a SCEC Employment Coach for a referral to the YAds Program
- Attend an Information Session: *By Appointment Only*
- Complete an Application form
- Attend a One on One interview
- Be selected into the program
- Start program
